Recipes for Banana Bread
Search the internet and type in banana bread. You will literally
find thousands of recipes for banana bread, banana waffles, banana
pancakes and banana muffins. This is not surprising. Bananas are a
favorite among the fruits, but they are also good for you. Bananas
help regulate heart function and blood pressure. They alleviate body
stiffness by pushing acids out of joints. Bananas have also been
successful in the treatment of mental issues. The potassium in
bananas helps to alleviate anxiety, irritability and stress.
Contrary to belief, bananas can be stored several ways. The
typical way is on the kitchen countertop , usually hanging from a
banana tree stand. Bananas can also be kept in the refrigerator.
This will cause the peel to discolor, but it will not cause them to
go bad. They can also be stored in the freezer after you peel them.
Just place them in a resealable bag and allow an hour or two to
defrost.
No matter how you store bananas it is how you can bake bananas
into lovely loaves of bread that is what is special. Whether you use
the Bisquick recipe or a recipe from a leading women magazine, you
will not be disappointed with the results. The typical form of
banana bread is the standard size loaf. You can even bake several
loaves and freeze them. Use them as needed; quick breads can be
safely frozen and used for up to three months. An alternative to
freezing whole loaves is to slice the loaves and freeze individual
servings. The best way to do this is to wrap each piece in
cellophane and then place into a bag specifically designed for the
freezer. Kids (and parents) can quickly grab a slice for breakfast
on the go or for a snack before or after dinner. |
